Question about MA-1 VF 59 vs. MA-1 TT
There isn’t huge differences between the vf 59 and the tt flight jackets (They even have the same color choices?), but there are some key points that do differentiate them. I will break them down separately so that you have all the essential information and details to decide which one to get or if you just want to get both of them?
1. MA-1 TT Bomber Jacket
Let’s start with going over the TT jacket. I actually did a intricate article review of the ma1 tt jacket so If you haven’t checked it out, then definitely check it out here. Of course after reading this article first?
The TT jacket is a slim fit version of the classic and well known MA-1 jacket. Not only does it fit slim and close to the body, it is more light and has no padding. This jacket was meant for more warm weather for seasons such as spring, summer, and fall. In the full review, I did of the TT jacket, everything is explained of the exact temperature suitable to wear the jacket and what type of clothing can be layered underneath.
MA-1 TT Flight Jacket
There isn’t much more than that for the TT jacket. It is slim fitting and has no padding in the nylon shell so it is thinner/lighter for warmer conditions. I love the simplicity of my MA-1 TT Bomber. That’s why it is a go to staple in my wardrobe?
2. MA-1 VF 59 Bomber Jacket
What about the ma1 vf 59 then? The vf 59 flight jacket is also a slim fitting version of the iconic MA-1 jacket just like the TT. The “VF 59” actually stands for vintage fit 1959. At round that time, a more slim and less bulky fit was the go to choice.
Besides the slim fit, the vf 59 jacket keeps the padding of the original MA-1 Bomber Jacket making it suitable to wear in colder weather during winter time. The vf 59 will do a better job of keeping you warm during those chilly nights when the wind is blowing fiercely feeling like your frozen?
VF 59 Flight Jacket
The Vf 59 in Sage Green looks almost identical to the TT in Sage Green as shown in the images above. The essential difference is that the VF 59 has the padding in the nylon shell from the original MA-1 Jacket making it thicker and a little heavier than the TT.
3. Conclusion

For example, I have worn really thin t-shirts underneath the ma1 and had no problem with weather above 40 degrees F.
